Please be aware that you can no longer book directly at the practice for a midwife appointment. Upon finding out that you are pregnant you will need to make a self-referral to The Jessop Maternity Wing. You can do this by following the Jessop Wing
Once you have completed your referral you will be allocated a community midwife to support you through your pregnancy. Your midwife will make contact with you to arrange an appointment. You can choose to be seen either at Richmond, or another hub within Sheffield. For more details you can call The Jessop Wing on 0114 226 8301.
For any questions that you might have throughout your pregnancy you can contact the midwifery team via their 24hour advice line 0114 2268091.
Travel Clinic
Some travel vaccines are free on the NHS to reduce the risk of certain infections being brought back into the country and leading to wider spread. These currently include cholera, polio (mainly given as combined tetanus-diphtheria-polio vaccine), hepatitis A and typhoid.
We are now able to offer these NHS recommended travel vaccines at the practice. If you are planning on traveling abroad to a country where vaccinations are required, please complete the below travel risk assessment form and contact the surgery to arrange an appointment with a nurse. You may also collect a printed copy of this form from reception. Please allow plenty of time before your trip to schedule your appointment.
Please be aware that for any non NHS approved vaccinations you will need to arrange to attend a private travel clinic such as Sheffield Travel Health Clinic based at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital, telephone 0114 271 2608, Travel clinic – Sheffield Teaching Hospital or other local travel health providers. Please note this is not a free service.
