Menopause – You’re Not Alone
We are supporting the new city-wide campaign Menopause – You’re Not Alone, which aims to help women across Sheffield recognise the signs of perimenopause and menopause and feel confident seeking support. Hormone changes during this stage of life can affect both physical and mental wellbeing – but support is available.
Why this matters
Menopause is a natural part of life, usually happening between ages 45 and 55. Symptoms can begin several years earlier (this is called perimenopause).
Many women experience symptoms without realising they may be hormone-related. These can include changes in mood, anxiety levels, sleep problems and reduced confidence, as well as physical symptoms like hot flushes or irregular periods.
Talking early can help prevent symptoms from getting worse.

Common symptoms may include:
- Hot flushes and night sweats
